Global media company TIME has announced the launch of TIME Africa, a new regional editorial expansion developed in collaboration with Global Venture Partners (GVP).
Slated to go live in September 2025, TIME Africa will operate as a digital and live events platform, extending TIME’s trusted journalism and convening influence to audiences across the continent. The platform will be accessible in both English and French through Africa.TIME.com.
Jessica Sibley, Chief Executive Officer of TIME, said: “TIME has provided trusted journalism and thoughtful perspectives to readers around the world for over a century. With the launch of TIME Africa, we are continuing our commitment to reach new audiences, further our presence and coverage of the continent’s leaders, visionaries, and changemakers, and shine a spotlight on the stories that matter most. We are pleased to collaborate with Global Venture Partners to bring this platform to the continent.”
Josh Wilson, Managing Director of Global Venture Partners, added: “TIME is one of the most respected and recognized brands in the world, and we are proud that GVP was selected as the trusted partner for the brand’s Africa expansion. Africa is going through massive transformation across business, culture, and society, and now more than ever it is critical that the continent has a dedicated platform within TIME to spotlight its growth and impact on the world stage.”
TIME Africa will be distributed across more than 50 countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Ethiopia, Côte d’Ivoire, and Senegal.
The launch comes at a time of strong global growth for TIME, which now reaches more than 120 million people worldwide across all platforms, the largest and most diverse audience in its history. The brand has long engaged with African stories through initiatives such as the TIME100 Impact Awards Africa in Rwanda, which has honoured figures including actress Danai Gurira, former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and African Leadership Academy founder Fred Swaniker. TIME has also recognised African leaders and innovators in its flagship TIME100 lists, featured destinations from the continent in its World’s Greatest Places rankings, and highlighted issues such as climate justice with figures like Ugandan activist Vanessa Nakate on its cover.
Through TIME Africa, the brand aims to amplify these efforts, creating a central platform to elevate African stories, leaders, and ideas for a global audience.
