Playlists have always been central to the Spotify listening experience. Now, the music streaming giant is taking things a step further by launching AI Playlist in beta—a new feature designed to help Premium users transform their most creative ideas into personalised playlists, effortlessly.

Available in more than 40 markets, AI Playlist is already making waves among Premium subscribers who have collectively created millions of playlists since its initial rollout last year. The feature aims to enhance music discovery by allowing users to generate playlists tailored to any mood, moment, or inspiration.

How It Works
To access the feature, users simply head to the search tab in the Spotify app and type in “AI Playlist”. From there, they can either select a suggested prompt or enter their own. Spotify’s AI then curates a unique playlist based on a mix of tracks, artists, and genres it believes the user will enjoy.

Users can also fine-tune the playlist by giving feedback such as “more upbeat,” “happier songs,” or “new releases.” Spotify encourages creativity in prompt creation—not only do traditional prompts like genres, moods, and artist names work well, but users can also use animals, activities, movie characters, colours, or even emojis to inspire the playlist.

Suggested Prompts to Try:

  • “Afrobeat tracks for the dance floor”
  • “Trending K-Pop hits I need to know”
  • “Reggaeton for hanging out at the beach”
  • “Songs to hype me up for a football match”
  • “Latin songs from my top genre”

The feature is set to expand across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, enabling even more users to create the perfect playlist in just a few taps.
