Naivas Supermarket hosted an open day at its Githurai 44 store on Saturday, bringing together customers and suppliers for a day of engagement, appreciation and product showcases as the retailer continues its nationwide “Naivas Ni Kwetu” campaign.

The event provided customers with an opportunity to interact with supplier partners, explore products and take part in various activations and promotions, while Naivas used the occasion to recognise the role of suppliers in supporting its retail operations.

A key feature of the event was the Supplier Showcase, which brought a number of Naivas’ supplier partners closer to consumers. The showcase offered suppliers an opportunity to engage directly with shoppers, demonstrate their products and highlight the work that goes into bringing products to Naivas stores.

Naivas said the collaboration with its suppliers plays an important role in enabling the retailer to offer customers a broad product range, quality products and competitive value.

The Githurai 44 event also sought to strengthen the retailer’s relationship with customers in the community, with activities designed to create a more interactive shopping experience while reinforcing the “Ni Kwetu” message.

The campaign, whose name translates to “It is ours” or “It is home”, seeks to emphasise Naivas’ connection with the communities in which it operates and its identity as a Kenyan homegrown retailer.

The Githurai 44 Open Day is part of a series of activities planned under the campaign as Naivas seeks to deepen engagement with customers and supplier partners across its store network.

Naivas has grown from a single retail outlet into one of Kenya’s largest supermarket chains, with stores across the country. The retailer offers a wide range of groceries, household products and other consumer goods, while competing on product choice, pricing and convenience.

Through the “Naivas Ni Kwetu” campaign, the retailer is positioning its stores not only as shopping destinations, but also as spaces where customers, communities and local business partners can interact.

The campaign also highlights the role of supplier partnerships in supporting Naivas’ operations and connecting Kenyan consumers with products from businesses operating across different sectors.
