Honda has unveiled a refreshed ‘H mark’ logo at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show, marking the first redesign since 1981.

This minimalist and modern emblem, with outward-pointing vertical strokes resembling “two outstretched hands,” signifies Honda’s renewed commitment to conquering challenges in the electric vehicle (EV) realm.

Exclusive to upcoming Honda electric cars, including the 0 series models, the new H mark reflects the automaker’s ambition in the electrification race. Notably, it aligns with the introduction of the Prologue electric SUV, co-developed with GM and based on the Ultium platform, retaining the existing Honda badging.

Debuting alongside the logo redesign are the futuristic Honda Saloon and Space-Hub concepts, part of the 0 series lineup scheduled for production in 2026. Speculations arise regarding potential adoption of the H mark by other Honda vehicles, potentially serving as a distinction between internal combustion engine (ICE) models and new EVs.

Beyond logo updates, Honda showcased the Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) Afeela at CES 2024, highlighting its unique design and smart technology. With 482 horsepower, the SHM Afeela aims to compete with notable electric models like the Tesla Model 3 and Volkswagen ID.7.

Prospective buyers may anticipate the SHM Afeela’s release next year, though it’s expected not to feature the updated Honda symbol. This comprehensive update signifies Honda’s strategic moves in the evolving automotive landscape.
